The year started off well when Elgany Woodlands Lady 282, a July born gilt owned by Mervyn Foster and ably shown by Connor Duggan took Interbreed at Newark & Not ts Show in May She also qualified for the Pig of the Year, as did John Herbert’s boar Dappleheath Sovereign 13.

Dappleheath Sovereign 13 went on to take interbreed at Cheshire Show in June.

At Yorkshire, the success continued when Steve Richardson & Janice Wood’s January boar Finnington Captain was Reserve Interbreed. More accolades followed for Finnington Captain, he won Interbreed at Great Eccleston Show, and at the RBST National Show.He was also Reserve in the Young Pig of the Year competition, and to cap it all then, later in the day, won the Middle White Champion of Champions, with his litter sister Finnington Fair Lady 14 being reserve.
